Round Up For Change
The Good Tern Co-op collects donations through the registers by offering customers the option to round up their change, or donate a specific amount, to benefit a different non-profit organization each month. 100% of donations collected through the registers go to each month’s chosen organization.
August Round Up Recipient:
Midcoast Wood Bank
Midcoast Wood Bank is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to addressing heating insecurity in our communities.
“We collect clean hardwood logs and firewood from landowners, tree companies, developers, municipalities, and homeowners. Our volunteers cut, split, and stack the wood to dry, ensuring a moisture content below 20% to reduce creosote buildup in chimneys.
Founded in 2023 by the creator of the Cumberland Wood Bank (est. 2007), our growing team of dedicated volunteers & donors produced over 100 cords of firewood in 2025 for our neighbors in need. Volunteers of all ages are welcome—safety is our top priority. To operate equipment, volunteers must be 18 or older, wear proper safety gear, and complete training.
Join us in keeping our neighbors warm—one log at a time.”
